Hudson C. Mitchell-Pullman

I’m 16 and in high school. I enjoy being around interesting people. I am delighted by reading papers, memoirs, and texts in quiet libraries and closets. I conduct research at Virginia Tech in computing education.

I research human-AI interaction within STEM education. I also enjoy learning about math, computer science, cognitive science, developmental psychology, learning science, and physics. My interests lie in the use of intelligent tutoring systems and pedagogical AI tutors to support advanced problem solving, critical thinking, and end-user programming. I am mentored by Annapurna Vadaparty, David Smith, and Qianou Ma.

I’ve received grants from Emergent Ventures, Foundry10, and the Lift Off Grant to support my research. I’m also an Algoverse AI Research Fellow and studied calculus and linear algebra through the Art of Problem Solving and UC San Diego.
